EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The El Paso Art Association (EPAA) is hosting an in-person student art exhibit, its annual scholarship exhibit, as part of the school visual arts event of State (VASE) in region 19.
Students had to submit their applications by March 4, but the exhibition, located at the Crossland Gallery, 500 West Paisano Street, has been open to the public since March 12.
Here are some of the samples found at the exhibit.
Clint Independent School District (CISD), Fabens ISD, Socorro ISD, and Ysleta ISD are participating.
It features artwork by more than 75 local high school students, including 77 imaginative artworks, according to EPPA.
The guidelines require all artwork to be matted to include appropriate support (i.e. foam board, corrugated board). Each entry must have the student name, title, medium, teacher name, school, and district affixed to the back of the medium.
The EPPA Awards and Prizes will award 8 scholarships to 8 different students at $250 each. The awards reception will be held March 24 at 6 p.m. The exhibition will end on April 2.
