Metroid Prime 4 Studio Shares New Samus Artwork

If there’s one surefire way to grab the attention of a Nintendo super fan, it’s any information about Metroid Prime 4. Retro Studios always keeps the details close to the chestbut a mysterious piece of art might be the biggest tease we’ve seen in a while.

On Thursday, eagle-eyed industry insider Nibel noticed that Retro Studios had updated the company’s Twitter account banner with a photo of metroid series protagonist Samus standing in an icy blue metallic hallway. It’s not an existing piece of artwork from previous Metroid titles, so most assume it’s from Metroid Prime 4.

Take a look for yourself below. It’s certainly pretty, if not hair-raising for longtime fans.

Oddly enough, Retro Studios haven’t updated their other social media feeds like Facebook with art. Take it for what you want.

It’s by no means a big deal, but metroid fans have been waiting for the fourth installment for ages. The last entry in the First the series was Metroid Prime 3: Echoesreleased in 2007. Metroid Prime 4 himself was announcement in 2017 under Bandai Namco Studios before Retro resumed development in 2019.

Metroid Prime 4 will eventually be released on the Nintendo Switch. Until then fans better download Metroid: Return of Samus on the 3DS eShop before Nintendo took down the display case.
