High school students perform in “Puffs”.

The Emery/Weiner School wrapped up its fall performing arts season with two big shows in the upper and lower schools.

The college musical, “Xanadu JR,” was a hilarious musical adventure about chasing your dreams in the face of obstacles. The students performed live on November 6 and 7.

“Xanadu JR” follows the journey of the beautiful and magical Greek muse, Kira, as she descends from the skies of Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980.

Kira is on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to make the greatest artistic creation of all time – the first wheelie disco. (Remember, it’s 1980). When Kira falls in love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation and chaos abounds.

The high school play – “Puffs” was performed from October 22 to 24. “Puffs” is a clever and inventive piece that gives audiences a new look at a familiar adventure.

For seven years, a certain boy wizard went to a certain school of wizards and defeated evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs, who were there too.

This comical adventure through your favorite wizarding world is a tale for anyone who was never destined to save the world.
