Chinwe Russell called on artists to submit original artwork to help support Ukraine in its fight against its invader.
Ukraine has been devastated by war. Many people lost their lives, their homes, their loved ones. Thousands of people became refugees overnight.
That’s why Chinwe Russell, in association with Chalkwell Auctions, has decided to support those affected by the Russian invasion by auctioning off original works of art with funds earmarked to help those most in need.
“Many families have been affected by this war, including my family. And so I call on the international community of artists to join me in raising much-needed funds for Ukraine. I have had the privilege of working with many of you and this time I call on you to join this common goal. In conjunction with Chalkwell Auctions in the UK, we will be running a charity auction on March 29th and we need you to donate original artwork if you can. – Statement by Chinwe Russell
The money raised during the auction will be donated to the Red Cross, which risks its life daily to support those who remained in Ukraine, those who fled the country and the thousands of refugees at the borders.
The deadline for submission is March 16 with more information here.
